Reduce Global Warming





On 20 January 2010, the Cabinet Meeting decided to appoint Y.Bhg Datuk Hajah Ilani Binti Dato’ Haji Isahak as the Special Coordinator to assist the government in promoting understanding and harmony among the religions in Malaysia to continue the efforts in fostering relationships and maintain peace as well as social stability.

Thus, the Cabinet meeting on 24 February 2010 decided to establish a Committee to Promote Inter-Faith Understanding & Harmony. The establishement of the committee is a continuous efforts of the Relation Working Committee Among Religious Adherents under the purview of the National Unity Advisory Panel.


JKMPKA’s Terms of Reference.                          

  1. To create, encourage and strengthen good relationship among leaders and adherents of various religions in order to build a foundation in the spirit of mutual respect and mutual trust and cooperation in all levels of leadership and grassroots.                                
  2. To encourage all religious organizations to respect and adhere to the Federal Constitution, especially those articles relating to religion.                              
  3. To propose policy based on good religious values to the government align with first principle of National Philosophy “Belief in God”.                                  
  4. To enhance the level of understanding of various religions and issues that may jeopardize religious harmony and public tranquility in becoming source of national power.                                 
  5. To jointly-organized social, welfare and educational activities towards creating a prosperous and harmonious society.                                 
  6. To act as a mechanism and execute intervention activity when religious issues, misunderstandings and disputes between religion adherents begin to spread and potentially become issues that may threaten society harmony and nation peace.                                
  7. To strive to ensure all religious organizations receive attention accordingly from all the levels of Government, whether central, state or local.                                               



  • To strengthen bonds among the people of various religions.
  • To become a mediating body for issues raised among religious adherents.
  • To encourage all religious associations to respect as well as adhere to the Federal Constitution.
  • To ensure the government is attentive to the voices of the religious organizations.


By following steps :



Improves the understanding of various religions and issued that may threaten religious harmony and public tranquality


Proposes religious values-centric policies to the Government.


Jointly organizes community activities.

          To proposes solutions to issues that may raise disputes among religious adherents:



         Religious conversion 


     Child care rights 


         Claiming Rights of the deceased 


         Provision for houses of worship 


         Humiliation against religions 


         Religious propagation 


         Use of words of religion 


         Any new issues that being raised 


  1. Working Committee on Events
  • ​To organize programs that may promote understanding and harmony among religious adherents (Seminar, Dialogue, Roundtable Discussion, forum, celebration of race/ethnic festivities dan religious festivities in collaboration with the Government and religious NGOs).


  1. Working Committee on Training and Mediation
  • To provide a platform for members of JKMPKA as well as religious leaders to achieve a common ground on religious affairs ijn the Federal Constitution.
  • To establish an intervention team through Certificate in Inter Religious Mediation.


  1. Working Committee on Youth Involvement
  • To execute program / produce module in promoting mutual understanding and harmony among targeted group.
  • To build a network of youth leadership.


  1. Working Committee on Education and Research
  • To collect research paper in related to harmony issues.
  • To publish a book that provides basic information on seven (7) religions that is practiced significantly by Malaysians:


  • Islam
  • Christianity
  • Buddhism
  • Hinduism
  • Sikhism
  • Taoism
  • Baha’I Faith


  • For the understanding of rakyat in order to live peacefully and respect one another.
